Council to Vote on Bids for Columbus Street & Sidewalk Improvements

COLUMBUS, Neb. - The Columbus City Council will vote on Tuesday to accept bids for street and sidewalk improvements. The first resolution would give the asphalt improvement bid to Constructors Inc. of Lincoln for just over $442,000. The planned projected would improve 27th St. from 23rd to 48th Ave., 10th St. from 30th Ave. approximately 590 feet west and 23rd Ave. from 23rd St. to 27th St. The other resolution would reward the concrete bid to Sealcoat Services Inc, in Columbus for around $332,000. They would make street repairs throughout town in locations such as: Korby Ave. from 27th to 28th St., 28th Ave. from 8th and 9th St., 30th St. from 2nd and 3rd Ave., Muirfield Place from 24th to 26th Ave. and 20th St. from 10th Ave., east. They would also replace sidewalks at the city parking lot on 25th Ave and 12th St. and replace the sidewalks involved with the asphalt street projects on 27th St. and 23rd Ave. The council will meet Tuesday night to discuss the bids, along with the rest of their agenda.
