Council Approves Purchase of 3 Columbus Police SUV’s

COLUMBUS, Neb. - The Columbus City Council approved three new police SUV's. According to CPD Captain Doug Molczyk, the department will purchase three Ford Explorers in order to keep their fleet updated. The oldest models in the fleet will be sold. The cost of each new vehicle is just over $51,000, including the necessary communications and emergency equipment, plus other needed add-ons. The total cost of the three vehicles is $153,147. The council approved the purchase unanimously during Monday's meeting.
