Congressman Fortenberry Holds Town Hall Meeting In Columbus

COLUMBUS - Nebraska District 1 Congressman Jeff Fortenberry held a town hall meeting in Columbus on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the issues that are important to the people in town. The meeting took place at noon in the City Council Chambers. Fortenberry discussed the Federal budget with the crowd, as well as a couple of bills and acts that he is currently working on in Washington. Those include a 2018 Farm Bill, as well as the Recovering America's Wildlife Act. After the presentation, Fortenberry took questions from the crowd, and topics ranged from immigration issues, workforce problems, and discussions on how to make government work more effectively in solving broader complications in the world today. Overall, Fortenberry said that mutual respect and agreement were found as the group unpacked the issues which were discussed. Fortenberry's next town hall meeting will take place at the City Council Chambers in Norfolk at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
