Columbus Man Loses $2,000 in IRS Scam

COLUMBUS - Columbus Police say a man is out $2,000 after falling victim to an IRS scam that involved iTunes cards. Columbus Police Captain Todd Thalken says the man was tricked by scammers who were posing as the IRS. Thalken says the scammers asked the man to pay them money, and subsequently gave the scammers $2,000 worth of iTunes cards. Thalken says if anyone besides Apple/iTunes, asks you to pay for something with iTunes cards, it is most likely a scam.
