Click Family Healthcare Ready to Serve Patients
Dr. John Jacobsen is joined by the staff of Click Family Healthcare, the BB Chamber of Commerce, Senator Matt Williams, and Lt. Gov. Mike Foley for a ribbon cutting celebration on October 16.

BROKEN BOW–Direct primary care clinic Click Family Healthcare is officially open in Broken Bow and located at 805 S F St, Broken Bow, NE 68822. The clinic began seeing patients earlier this month and joined the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce on Friday, October 16. Special guests included Senator Matt Williams and Lieutenant Governor Mike Foley.

Dr. John Jacobsen, originally from Merna, opened the Kearney location of Click Family Healthcare in 2017. Prior to applying to medical school, he worked as a banker for more than 10 years and has since worked in Geneva doing private practice for all ages, providing obstetrical services, minor surgical procedures, emergency room services, and has worked as a hospital chief of staff, nursing home medical director, and Chief Medical Officer in Omaha before returning to direct patient care. “We’re what’s called a direct primary care clinic. Which means that we don’t take insurance, we don’t accept insurance. It’s simply a monthly cash payment that people make to us to provide their primary care services for them,” Dr. Jacobsen told KCNI/KBBN.

Dr. Jacobsen said he and his staff are excited to bring their services to Broken Bow adding that “direct primary care is a wonderful alternative to people who can’t afford a high deductible insurance plan or insurance.”

In addition to managing health conditions ranging from acute illness to diabetes, hypertension, or high cholesterol, Click Family Healthcare offers lab work and procedures at cost.

“Our purpose is really to help our customers save money and provide them with the best healthcare we can,” Dr. Jacobsen said.

The membership based-model can be compared to a Costco or Sam’s Club Membership. Dr. Jacobsen said instead of working for insurance companies, a monthly cash payment allows customers to be in the driver’s seat for their healthcare needs.

During the ribbon cutting, Dr. Jacobsen introduced his staff which includes Patient Coordinator and John’s wife, Janet Jacobsen; Holly Goodell, APRN; Robin Meier, RN; Wendi Glendy, RN; and bookkeeper, Lori . RN Wendi Glendy will be the nurse in Broken Bow and actually worked in the building for the Broken Bow Clinic for 10 years before it closed in July 2016.

The building was purchased at the end of February and construction/remodel took place over the last several months. Dr. Jacobsen said he is thankful to local businesses and contractors such as Chapin’s, Leon Zimmerman, Chris Jones, Ron Ripp, and many family members for helping transform the space. The building still has room for another business as well.

Caring for patients must run in the family as Dr. Jacobsen told KCNI/KBBN Dr. Julie Lindstrom of Central Nebraska Medical Clinic is his cousin. Congratulations to Click Family Healthcare!
