City of Columbus Names New Finance Director

COLUMBUS, Neb. - The city of Columbus tabbed a woman from another Nebraska community to lead the city's finances. The city council unanimously approved the mayor's appointment of York City Treasurer Heather Lindsley on Monday. Lindsley led York's finances for two years and was previously the city clerk and treasurer in Osceola for five years. She calls the new gig a "professional improvement" and takes over for longtime director Anne Kinnison, who is retiring. Lindlsey will begin her job at the beginning of next month and will have Kinnison around until June to show her the ropes of her new job. "I'm fortunate I get to work with her for a couple of months and so I get to see how she has done things and what I can improve on and what we can do differently, and maybe stay the same too, it just depends," says Lindsley. Lindlsey lives in Osceola and is graduate of Stromsburg High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
