BROKEN BOW—“There were never such devoted sisters”…devoted to local businesses! Thursday afternoon was a time for celebration for sisters Joyce Richardson and Sherry Morrow as they each welcomed updates to their businesses. The Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce congratulated Runza with a GROW Award for recent updates and renovations to the restaurant located on East Highway 2.

“We removed all the wooden wainscoting that was around the bottom and replaced with a more contemporary as you can see the darker black/gray. And the new trim there. Everything has been repainted, new wall décor, the words and descriptions as opposed to pictures that were on there before. And in the party room the chairs have been re-upholstered,” Joyce Richardson said.

Kevin Richardson added that steel cabinetry was also added in the server area as a nice improvement. The staff showed appreciation to both Chris Jones Construction and Bruning State Bank.

Entertainment Plus Owner Sherry Morrow joined the Chamber of Commerce more than a year ago but is now excited to officially cut the ribbon! The Kearney-based company features event entertainment such as blackjack, craps, poker, and roulette.

“We do casinos with play money for convention groups and parties. And they’re good for Christmas parties, work parties, employment parties. And we’ve done them for a longtime in Kearney and within the last couple three years we’ve expanded out into half a dozen communities surrounding Kearney,” Morrow said.

Entertainment Plus has provided casino fun to parties and group events since the 1980s for groups as small as 20 people and as large as 500.

Morrow is now excited to join the Custer County community and encourages anyone who is planning an event to call to learn more about the entertainment and casino games she can provide.

“I’m excited about it. I know a lot of people here because my sister and brother-in-law, Kevin and Joyce Richardson, obviously are in business here so I’ve met a lot of people here and know a lot of folks around the area as well,” Morrow added.
