Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department Golf Scramble and Open House

BROKEN BOW—Support the local fire department and EMTs by attending a full day of activities this Saturday, May 4.

To kick things off on Saturday morning, the Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a four-person golf scramble at the Broken Bow Country Club beginning at 10 a.m. The cost is $60 per person/$240 per team and the scramble will be capped at 24 teams. Top three (in three flights) will receive a payout and there will be flag prizes on every hole. Meal and prizes will follow at the new fire all after the scramble with the open house beginning at 3 p.m.

Call Fire Chief Jason Baum to enter the golf scramble by calling 308-870-1237. Call the Broken Bow Country Club for cart information at 308-872-6444.

Following the golf scramble, a day of family-fun is scheduled at the Broken Bow Fire and Ambulance Station (1848 S G St, Broken Bow, NE 68822). The open house will begin at 3 p.m. with miniature golf, inflatables, and firetruck rides. Food will be provided during the event and a dance will take place from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. with music by the Lucas Minor Band.

Chief Baum said the fire department hosts a fundraiser every year and previously put on the Firemen’s Ball but wanted to try something different this year.

“This is our annual fundraiser that we do every year, you know, to help us pay for training and general expenses to help run the fire department,” Chief Baum said.

He said the open house is open to the public to help support the volunteer fire department. Ages 5 and under are free, tickets for ages 6-12 are $5, and tickets for those ages 13 and older are $10 each (family pass pricing will be available).
