Broken Bow Chamber Executive Director Resigns From Position

Broken Bow, Neb. — The Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce announced today (November 17) that Deb Kennedy has officially resigned from her position as Executive Director, tentative December 4, 2020.

In her statement, Deb Kennedy explained that while she has enjoyed working with members and contributing to the community, the time has come to pursue a new direction.

“This was not an easy decision, however, an opportunity presented itself that I just could not turn down. Being part of the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce has been one of the most rewarding times in my professional career. To be able to promote and support the community I grew up in and love so much has been a huge blessing. I will miss the daily contact with the amazing people I have built relationships with along with the activities and events that have been a huge part of my life for the past 3 years. I am proud of what we have built at the Chamber and look forward to supporting the new team who will lead the business community to the future,” Kennedy said.

Despite her announcement earlier in the year, Deb Kennedy has continued her dedication to the Chamber and has been acting as interim Executive Director for several months.

Chamber President Levi French expressed his gratitude for Kennedy’s service and noted that the search for the replacement Executive Director is well underway.

“When Deb requested to transition out of the Executive Director role earlier in the year, I knew it would make for an especially trying year. Fortunately, she remained on as interim director and we are grateful to her years of service and dedication to the Chamber, it’s members, and the community. We wish her the best in her future endeavors and are excited to see her remain in the community,” said French. “The Chamber continues in finding a suitable successor who can lead the Chamber to further provide a positive impact for its members.”

The Broken Bow Chamber office will have modified hours starting mid-December. Updated hours will be released once a definitive schedule is set. Interviews and a selection process are currently underway to fill the position.
