BROKEN BOW— Schmick’s Market will cease operations in Broken Bow on May 12 following the purchase of the store by Gary’s Super Foods of North Platte. Cody Schmick, General Manager of the four Schmick’s Market locations, told KCNI/KBBN that Schmick’s Market has had a “stellar crew,” but he felt the store was not able to give back to the community as much as he would like.

Gary’s Super Foods is currently located in North Platte, after moving there from the original store in Hershey in 1995. Cody was confident that Gary Suhr, owner of Gary’s Super Foods, would be a better fit for Broken Bow by updating the store and being able to benefit the community more. The new Gary’s Super Foods will open its doors on May 14.

Gary Suhr was not immediately available for comment.

This is a developing story.
