BREAKING: Norfolk Stabbing Suspect Arrested

NORFOLK -- The teenager suspected of stabbing a Norfolk man on Wednesday night is behind bars. According to a news release from Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer, police investigators located and arrested 19-year-old Johny Peralta-Cardona at 5:27 PM Thursday night on a 2nd degree assault warrant.  Bauer says police received a tip that Peralta-Cardona was in Norfolk and located him in the 400 block of North 5th Street.  He was arrested and is currently being housed in the Madison County Jail.  Peralta-Cardona's current bond is set at 10 percent of $250,000. Authorities originally responded to a call of a possible stabbing at 116 West Norfolk Avenue around 9:15 PM Wednesday night.  Police said a 25-year old man had been stabbed and the suspect had fled the area on foot. The victim was taken to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk for treatment of what were called non-life-threatening injuries. Bauer says the Police Division is thankful for assistance from Norfolk citizens in resolving the case.
