NORFOLK -Severe weather heading toward Madison County Saturday evening causes Big Bang Boom board of directors to postpone the event.
With only 3 hours left before the firework show, officials made the call to postpone Norfolk's Independence Day celebration.
According to the Big Bang Boom official Facebook page, directors made the decision based on public safety.
Music and the inflatable midway will continue until weather no longer permits.
Sunday evening beginning at 6 p.m. the inflatable midway and food vendors will reopen.
The show will take place on Sunday night at 10 p.m.
