Beatrice Man Suspected of Sexually Assaulting 15-Year-Old Boy

BEATRICE – A Beatrice man is in custody, suspected in the sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy. 27-year-old Cody Haynes was arrested by Beatrice Police Monday, on suspicion of 1^st-degree sexual assault.   His Gage County Court appearance bond has been set at $100,000. Police Saturday were called to investigate a possible sexual assault of a 15-year-old, where the victim had been taken to Beatrice Community Hospital, for an exam.  Authorities learned that the boy had gone to Haynes' North 9^th Street residence, to “hang out”…and had been drinking prior to arriving there. Haynes was contacted by Beatrice Police, brought to police headquarters, questioned, then arrested. He faces further hearing in Gage County Court, October 3^rd.
