Area competitors finish strong at High School Rodeo in Lex

The Nebraska High School Rodeo circuit made its way to Lexington this past weekend for two performances. Chase Miller of Broken Bow won the tie down roping on Saturday in a time of 10.35 and he placed first in the boys cutting on Sunday with a score of 72. Ty Bass of Brewster was the winner of the boys cutting on Saturday with a score of 73 and then teamed with Merit Van Horn of Page, Ne on Sunday to win the team roping in a time of 9.19. Mable McAbee of Ansley was the barrel racing champion on Saturday in a time of 18.19. Kesha DeGroff of Broken Bow won the girls cutting on Sunday with a 72 score and Jaylee Simonson of Dunning was Sunday’s pole bending champion in a time of 21.237.
