BROKEN BOW—A second ribbon cutting was celebrated on Tuesday morning with the addition of Apple Roofing to the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce. Talk about timing! Sales Manager Tim Beckenhauer said it was just a coincidence the roofing company joined the chamber the day after many parts of Custer County experienced high winds and hail.

The ribbon cutting took place in the city square and Lieutenant Governor Mike Foley and Senator Matt Williams were in attendance along with many other community members.

Apple Roofing began in 2011 and now has offices in Lincoln, Omaha, Kearney, and Kansas City. Beckenhauer said the company owners wanted to stand out and wanted a name at the beginning of the alphabet. Years ago, one of the owners received a phone call on his iPhone and decided on the name Apple, “providing quality to the core.”

“We’re a roofing company based out of Lincoln, Nebraska. We have branches in Kearney, Omaha, and Kansas City. This is my Kearney team. I actually was born and raised here in Broken Bow. Went to high school here, my family still lives here, my sisters and their families still live here so Broken Bow is very important to me,” Beckenhauer said. “We really wanted to establish a little bit more of a community base here and just let people know that we are here to help them in any way that we can.”

Apple Roofing provides estimates and focuses on residential and commercial roofing. One employee said that he has enjoyed working for a smaller company and looks forward to serving more of central Nebraska with his team.

“It’s very family [oriented], they’ve got great morals, it’s just a really good company and a good group of people to work for. Everybody’s really willing to help each other out. It’s a lot of fun, we work hard but we have a lot of fun too.”

Welcome to Custer County, Apple Roofing!
