Ansley Muddy Creek Celebration June 7-9

ANSLEY—It’s Mardi Gras on Muddy Creek! The annual Muddy Creek Celebration recognizes family, fun, and friends this weekend and there is sure to be something for everyone.

There will not be a dull moment this weekend as Ansley celebrates nearly 40 years of community spirit. Many of the weekend events will take place in the Ansley City Park and are fun for the whole family.

Muddy Creek Celebration committee president Chas Fecht said she appreciates everyone helping to bring the celebration to life and enjoys seeing all of the smiles from kids and adults.

“It’s just absolutely amazing the way the whole community you know, kids adults, everybody just pitches in to make this possible,” Fecht said.

Friday: Summer Lunch Program at Ansley Public School, Kids Bike Color Ride at 1 p.m., 4H Cow Pie Bingo, Kids Water Carnival, Ansley VTO Duck Races, NRA Youth Shooting Trailer, American Legion Post #153 Homemade Icecream, Hog Wrestling, Exotic Petting Zoo, Food trucks/vendors, Beer Garden and live music

Saturday: Parade at 11 a.m., Community Center Lunch, Elementary School Art Show, Sand volleyball, Kids games, Kids Fishing Tournament, Bounce Houses, Tank Races, Night Swim

Sunday: Sunday Worship Service at “The Gathering” Ansley Baptist Church at 11 a.m. followed by potluck feloowship meal at the community building

For many Ansley natives, the Muddy Creek Celebration serves as a family reunion and time to reconnect with old friends but there is always room for new visitors as well who want to join in on the fun!

“My favorite part I think is seeing the crowd on main street for the parade and the kids running out and getting candy,” Muddy Creek Celebration Treasurer Cathie Jo Mills said. “It’s a busy weekend, everything’s coming up, and we’re all looking forward to seeing everyone here,” she added.

Advanced ticket wristbands are available at Cole Electric, Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce, Muddy Creek Ag, and Flat Water Bank but can also be purchased at the gate. Contact Chas at 308-212-0567 or Cathie Jo at 402-525-9633 with any questions about this weekend.
