STANTON -- A David City man was hospitalized after a one-vehicle crash on Friday night. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says officers responded to an accident about seven miles south of Stanton on Highway 57 just after 8 p.m. Unger says the driver, 53-year-old Jerry Bronson, was southbound on the highway when he left the road and went into the west ditch, striking several trees. Bronson was taken to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk by Stanton Rescue. Unger says alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor. Bronson was cited for driving while intoxicated, open container of alcohol, and refusal of a preliminary breath test.
