Accident In Ansley Sends One To The Hospital

ANSLEY— Police responded to an accident in Ansley on Monday, March 4 that sent one to the hospital. According to the accident report from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of a 2016 blue Ford Escape was traveling east on Dewey Street in Ansley when it and the driver of a 2001 silver KIA Sport, which was traveling south on Fargo Street, collided at around 12:30 PM.

The impact was focused on the front driver side of the Ford while the impact was located on the front passenger side of the KIA. Both drivers were using a seat belt in the accident, while the airbag was only deployed on the driver’s side of the Ford. That driver was taken by an Ansley ambulance to Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center with possible injuries to the knee, lower leg, or foot. The driver of the KIA was not transported.

The accident report estimates the damage to the KIA at around $2,500 while the Ford damage is estimated at $3,500.
