COLUMBUS - A man was taken into custody, after police say he spoke with an officer online, thinking they were a 14-year-old girl.
Police say in an arrest affidavit that 38- year-old Sebastian Birke, of Missouri Valley, Iowa was speaking with an officer online, who was posing as a 14-year-old girl. Police alleged that Birke shared sexually explicit messages and photos with the officer he thought was a teenager, for over a year, eventually agreeing to meet the girl at a park in southern Columbus.
Police arrested Birke at the meet-up location on May 9th, says the affidavit.
Birke is due in Platte County Court on Thursday, and is facing a Class 1D felony for child enticement, says court records.
