18-24 Inches Expected in North Central Nebraska

More Nebraskans could see a severe winter storm than originally expected. The National Weather Service expanded the list of counties prepared to enter a Winter Storm Watch from nine counties… to 52.  The watches last from Wednesday night through Thursday night.

Forecasters also added to projected snow totals. The north central part of the state could get between 18 and 24 inches of snow… with wind gusts as high as 45 miles per hour also expected.

While that’s going on the north…in the south…severe thunderstorms could be on tap. NWS forecasters say a slight risk exists for severe weather Wednesday evening. Forecasters say strong storms with large hail and damaging winds are possible in southeast Nebraska.
