KEARNEY— The 2021 NSAA State Speech Championships were held in Kearney March 18-19 at Kearney High School and Horizon Middle School. A number of area teams from the KCNI/KBBN area competed in the championships with a handful of students qualifying for the final rounds.
In Class D2, five schools had at least one student place in the top six in the finals including a championship pairing from Arnold High School. Reagan Cool and Landyn Cole were D2 Duet Acting Champions after earning first-place votes from all three judges. Chancey Hoblyn-Bitner and Gradie Cunningham of Ansley also had a great day for duet acting, where they had tied a duet team from Elgin, but thanks to the judges’ preference vote, was able to take fifth place.
