Nebraska men’s basketball officially announced Wednesday the signing of Karrington Davis, about a month after the 6-foot-5 guard committed to the Huskers.
Davis is the third member of Nebraska’s 2018 recruiting class. He joins 6-2 guard Xavier Johnson (Arlington, Virginia) and 6-11 forward Brady Heiman (Platteview), who both signed with NU in November.
Tim Miles said in a press release that Nebraska landed a player in Davis that flew under the radar because of an injury he suffered last year.
“There are a lot of reasons to be excited that Karrington is joining the Husker program,” Miles said. “He’s played for programs which are used to success at a high level and understands what it takes to compete at that level. I’ve been fortunate to watch his development over the years, and I love Karrington’s skill level, shooting and playmaking abilities. He really knows how to play the game.”
Davis spent his senior year at Montverde Academy in Florida, one of the nation’s premier high school basketball programs. Before that he played for Chaminade Prep in St. Louis.
Davis committed to the Huskers on March 10 after making an official visit the previous weekend. He chose NU over Saint Louis, Middle Tennessee and Kansas State.
“It’s all about the fit,” Davis said in an interview with The World-Herald last month. “My relationship with (Nebraska’s coaches) is great. They showed really strong interest in me from the jump.”
