ST. LOUIS — Sienna Crouse recorded a 9.9625 on the vault at the NCAA Super Six finals, the highest score of any gymnast, but Nebraska scored a 196.800 to finish sixth in the nation.
Peng-Peng Lee of UCLA scored a pair of perfect 10s, with the second coming on the balance beam in the final rotation, as the Bruins claimed the national championship by edging Oklahoma 198.075-198.0375.
Utah’s MyKayla Skinner scored a 9.925 on the Utes’ final rotation to lift them past Nebraska for fifth, with the Huskers notching their best national finish since 2014.
Anton Stephenson, Nebraska men’s gymnastics place fifth at national finals
CHICAGO — Anton Stephenson scored a 14.800 to finish tied for second on the vault as Nebraska scored a 403.589 to place fifth at the NCAA team and individual finals at the UIC Pavilion on Saturday.
Oklahoma’s Yul Moldauer won three events to win the all-around and lead Oklahoma to a score of 414.858 and the national championship.
Moldauer scored a 14.90 to win the vault, a 15.166 to claim the floor exercise and a 14.733 to win the parallel bars.
Nebraska’s Connor Adamsick finished fourth on the floor, and Christopher Stephenson was eighth on the parallel bars.
