ORLANDO, Fla. — UCF’s Scott Frost declined Monday to address a direct question about his future as the head football coach there.

On the American Athletic Conference coaches teleconference, a questioner asked:

“There are a lot of rumors swirling around you. Will you bat those down and confirm you’ll be back at UCF in 2018?’’

Frost’s reply: “I’m just not going to talk about it. All I want to talk about is this football team. I’ve said this a bunch of times. These guys have given me everything that I’ve asked of them, and bled and sweat for me. My focus is on this football team.’’

Frost will also hold his weekly press conference Monday afternoon with local reporters. On Sunday it was reported Frost had turned down interest in the opening at Florida. The Gators later hired Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen to be their next coach.

UCF, which capped off an undefeated regular season Friday, faces Memphis in the AAC championship game Saturday.
