Northwestern stops Husker soccer unbeaten streak with 1-0 win

EVANSTON, Ill. — Kayleigh Stahlschmidt scored in the 65th minute as Northwestern edged Nebraska 1-0 on Saturday to end the Huskers’ eight-match unbeaten streak.

The Huskers (9-4-5, 3-2-5 Big Ten), who suffered their first lost since Sept. 22 against Ohio State, had five saves from goalkeeper Aubrei Corder, but Stahlschmidt scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Kayla Sharples.

Haley Hanson led the Huskers with four shots, including a header at 80:01 that sailed wide.
