No. 6 Husker wrestling finishes Big Ten dual season with a loss to No. 2 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Second-ranked Ohio State won the final three matches to pull out a 21-12 victory over No. 6 Nebraska on Sunday.

The Huskers finished their Big Ten dual season 5-4, with three of the losses coming to the top three teams in the country: Penn State, Ohio State and Iowa.

Nebraska won three straight matches to tie Sunday’s dual 12-12.

Tyler Berger started that stretch with a 10-5 decision over eighth-ranked Ke-Shawn Hayes for his ninth win over a ranked opponent this season. Isaiah White (165) and Mikey Labriola (174) followed with victories.

But the top two wrestlers in OSU’s lineup responded with wins. Unbeaten Myles Martin, No. 1 at 184, downed No. 6 Taylor Venz 12-5 and Kollin Moore, No. 2 at 197, got a 7-5 sudden-victory over No. 11 Eric Schultz. Schultz tied it with a takedown in the final seconds of the third period, but Moore got the decisive takedown 13 seconds into sudden-victory.

Nebraska finishes its dual season Saturday, hosting Stanford.
