LINCOLN — Nebraska pretty much got what it expected in the Big Ten’s preseason men’s basketball poll.
The Huskers, coming off a 12-19 season, were picked 13th in a poll of 28 conference beat writers, ahead of only Rutgers.
Michigan State was a unanimous pick to win the Big Ten, and Spartans sophomore forward Miles Bridges was a rare unanimous pick as the league’s player of the year.
Bridges and Wisconsin forward Ethan Happ were unanimous first-team All-Big Ten picks. The other first-teamers were Michigan center Moritz Wagner, Minnesota guard Nate Mason and Northwestern guard Bryant McIntosh.
For freshman of the year, 27 of 28 writers picked Michigan State center Jaren Jackson.
