Former Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee will replace injured Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph at the Senior Bowl.

Lee threw for 3,143 yards in 2017 with 23 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in one season as NU’s starter after transferring from Tulane.

Rudolph will reportedly miss the game with a foot injury.

Lee declared for the NFL draft on Dec. 28.

It’s been 25 years since a Nebraska quarterback was drafted in the NFL to play that position. The last was Keithen McCant, a 12th-round pick in 1992.

Former NU offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf said in November that Lee has an NFL future, but he would have recommended he spend another year in college.

“I think he has a real bright future ahead and he’s gonna continue to improve,” Langsdorf said. “He’s smart and tough and whatever he decides, there are good things ahead for him.”

The 2018 Senior Bowl is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 in Mobile, Ala.
