Former Nebraska linebacker Will Compton has agreed to sign with the Tennessee Titans. Terms of his deal were not officially announced.

Compton spent his first five seasons in the NFL with the Washington Redskins, which signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played in 57 games with 33 starts for Washington.

Compton was at his most productive as a full-time starter during the 2015 and 2016 seasons with 196 tackles over those two years. He struggled with injuries in 2017, playing in nine games with three starts before going on injured reserve.

Compton will have a chance to compete for a starting job with the Titans, which currently have four inside linebackers on the roster.

At Nebraska, Compton was the defensive MVP as a senior in 2012 and a second-team All-Big Ten selection by the league coaches. He started 37 games as a Husker and finished his career with 247 total tackles.
