US Capitol Christmas Tree Arrives Monday In Nebraska City

NEBRASKA CITY – NCTC will host a program Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for the arrival of the US Capitol Christmas tree. The tree embarked on its 3,000-mile trip to Washington, D.C., from Willamette National Forest in Oregon and will arrive in Nebraska City today on a 100-foot trailer. The trailer will park on 11th Street near First Corso from 6 to 7 p.m. Live music, hot chocolate, chili feed and keepsake ornaments are planned. The Pioneer III Theater will offer of special showing of Christmas movies. The tree is taking the Oregon Trail in reverse order in commemoration of the trail’s 175th anniversary.
