Ricketts updates Panhandle ranchers on disaster relief

CHADRON, NE (KCSR / KBPY Radio) – Nebraska Governor Pete Rickets was at Chadron State Wednesday morning along with USDA officials for a private 90-minute meeting with area cattle producers.

The Governor got a first-hand briefing on how they’ve been impacted by this month’s blizzard and flooding and what help they need from the state or federal government.

The Panhandle hasn’t reported as much damage to Nebraska Emergency Management as the rest of the state. Scotts Bluff County has so far reported almost 300-thousand dollars worth of damage to the state.
