Peru Man Pulled Safely From Beneath Tractor

PERU – A Peru man escaped serious injury after a farm tractor overturned and pinned him. Sheriff Brent Lottman joined about a dozen firefighters from Peru and Nemaha  to rescue the man. Lottman said the man was mowing on a terraced hill a mile south of the Peru spur when the tractor overturned shortly before 9:28 a.m. The sheriff said the man was pinned, but was somehow situated beneath the tractor so that he was not crushed. He was talking to rescue crews as they arrived. Firefighters used high-pressure air bags to lift the tractor enough to pull the man out.
