OMAHA, NE (Omaha World-Herald News Service) – A new plan for a skyscraper could fill a cavity that has long languished in Omaha’s core.
Developer Jason Lanoha tells the Omaha World-Herald the time is ripe for a signature office building to rise on a vacant city block at 14th and Dodge Streets. The estimated 200 million dollar high-rise would contain two towers — stretching up to 30 stories at the highest point.
The project would fulfill an unofficial commitment to city officials to erect a tall structure on the site that enhances the city’s skyline. The site previously held Union Pacific’s headquarters until it moved across the street in 2004.
Architectural images have been drawn up and full-on marketing to lease space is to begin in the next few days. Construction could begin when enough companies commit to space.
