NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. – The Gretna girls and boys basketball teams swept Nebraska City in a pair of routes Friday night at Nebraska City High School.
Faith Ross, who was questionable to play with an illness, had a game-high 17 points to help lead the Dragons to a 46-27 win in the girls game. The Pioneers were led by Snezhana Serafimoska and Mackenzie Anthens, who each finished with 7 points. Serafimoska grabbed 11 rebounds.
Gretna, the #5 team in this week’s NCN basketball rankings, improved to 9-3. Nebraska City dropped to 4-10.
Meanwhile In the boys game, #3 Gretna‘s Tre’ Mikkelsen scored the games first 10 points to lead the Dragons to an early 10-0 lead. He finished with 19. Joey Johnson chipped in 10 points and 4 rebounds.
The Dragons largest lead was 30 points in the 59-35 win.
Nebraska City was led by Bryce Levy’s 15 points.
Gretna improves to 10-2 on the season, while Nebraska City falls to 1-13.
Both Pioneer teams travel to Platteview on Tuesday.
