More snow is likely late Thursday into Saturday

Forecasters say there’s a good chance of snow for southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri from Thursday night into Saturday.

The National Weather Service office in Valley said 1 to 3 inches will be possible across the region late Thursday into Friday. The Friday morning commute could be messy, the weather service said.

An additional round of snow Friday night into Saturday could drop another 1 to 2 inches on the region, forecasters said.

Ryan McPike, a KMTV meteorologist, said a computer forecasting model was calling for 5 to 6 inches of snow. Another was predicting 13 inches Thursday night into Saturday.

“We are talking about accumulating snow later this week,” he said. “Somebody is going to get a lot of snow.”
