SIDNEY, NE (Omaha World-Herald News Source) – A Sidney man convicted of killing a 30-year-old Sidney woman in July 2012 has been denied post conviction relief.
A Cheyenne County District Court judge denied Larry Martinez’s motion for postconviction relief without an evidentiary hearing.
A jury convicted Martinez of first-degree murder in 2014 in the 2012 death of 30-year old Mandy Kershman.
Martinez appealed his murder conviction arguing that it wasn’t premeditated and thus not first degree murder.
The Supreme Court affirmed his conviction as well back in 2016.
