#7 Doane Scores 19 Unanswered to Shock #22 Dakota Wesleyan, 68-67

CRETE – If you are a fan of offense, there would have been no better game to watch on Saturday than #7 Doane hosting #22 Dakota Wesleyan.

In a GPAC contest that featured 1,395 yards of offense and 135 points, Doane just barely was able to win, 68-67, and remain undefeated for the season.

Trailing 64-42 early in the fourth quarter, Doane was able to rally and outscore the Tigers down the stretch 26-3, including 19 unanswered, to improve to 3-0.

Senior Quarterback Jack Shadley led Doane in his first game back from injury this season. He finished with 409 yards passing and four touchdowns.

Drew Klein caught nine balls for 126 yards and two touchdowns.

Dillon Turner also had a big game at quarterback for Dakota Wesleyan. The senior passed for 405 yards and rushed for 122, as he accounted for six touchdowns on the day.

Turner’s favorite target was Hayden Adams, who caught 18 passes for 254 yards and three scores.

Doane heads to Concordia for a GPAC rivalry game next week at 1 p.m. You can listen live on Ol Red 99-5.

Dakota Wesleyan drops to 2-2 overall and will host Hastings next week.
