OMAHA, Neb. — Despite the pandemic, housing prices in Omaha have jumped significantly in the past year.
According to a University of Nebraska, Omaha study the price of a single-family home in the Metro rose by 10 percent, far more than usual.
Over the past 20 years on average home prices have jumped 3 per cent a year, but more than tripled that in the last 12 months.
Researchers say the unusual jump is due to low interest rates and a 34 per cent reduction in the number of homes up for sale.
