Work to begin Tuesday on Interstate 80 east of North Platte

NORTH PLATTE- Those with Interstate 80 in their travel plans for the next couple of months are being asked to bring their patience and cautious driving habits eastbound near North Platte. Work is scheduled to begin, weather permitting, on Tuesday (April 7).

Western Engineering Company of Harlan, Iowa is the contractor for the project, which runs from just west of the I-80 and Highway 83 crossing east to almost mile marker 186. Work will include asphalt resurfacing that will require temporary lane closures and a 12 foot width restriction.

Anticipated completion of the project is June 2026.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.

Work will be between reference post 176.90 to 185.74 (click to enlarge)
