Georgia Elizabeth Fuqua passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at her home in Broken Bow, Nebraska. She was 77.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, Jo’s cremains will be inurned with her husband at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. Georgia Reineer was born Dec. 31, 1948, in Chicago, to George E. and Alice Reineer. Georgia was named after her father but was known as “Jo” by family and friends.
In 1963, she married Ronald Leroy Allison, and they had four children together. The oldest, Bryon, was born in 1964 in Phoenix. Rhonda followed in 1965, Leroy in 1967 and Elizabeth in 1969, all born while the family lived in California.
Jo met Eugene “Gene” Fuqua through her job, and they began a relationship around 1981. During the late summer of 1982, Gene and Jo blended their families, living together in Glendale, Arizona. The household included Jo’s four children and Gene’s youngest son. Soon after, they relocated to Nebraska.
On March 12, 1983, they married in Bertrand, Nebraska.
Within a few years, Jo had gone back to school and earned a nursing degree, and she and her husband owned a mobile home park in Elwood, Nebraska. In the 1990s, they moved to Lake Los Angeles, California, a bedroom community just outside Palmdale. In the 2000s, they moved back to Elwood and purchased a fifth-wheel trailer that they enjoyed on several trips.
Following the sale of the mobile home park, Gene and Jo moved to Broken Bow.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing bridge and crocheting. Anyone who visited her home knew about her frog collection. More than anything, she cherished her family.
She is survived by three children, Bryon Allison, of Arizona; Rhonda Sheneman, of Broken Bow; and Elizabeth (Mike Taul) White, of Anselmo; stepson Bradley Fuqua, of Philomath, Oregon; 16 grandchildren, Jenifer (Adam) Sorensen, of Kearney; Amber Retzlaff, of Hastings; Roger Bergman, of Whiting, Iowa; Kevin White, of Broken Bow; Felishia Brock, of Broken Bow; Brittney (Derek) Ray, of Yukon, Oklahoma; Alex (Mariah) White, of Anselmo; Tara (AJ) Holland, of Lincoln; Ashley (Gabe) Padillo, of Tacoma, Washington; Brandy Allison, of Nampa, Idaho; Jordan Allison, of Arizona; Bryon Allison Jr., of Arizona; Jessica Bihary, of Eugene, Oregon; Brandon (Katelyn) Fuqua, of Corvallis, Oregon; Jude Fuqua, of Philomath, Oregon; and Jasper Fuqua, of Philomath, Oregon; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Fuqua; son, Earnest Leroy Allison; stepson, Terry Fuqua; stepdaughter, Donna Fuqua; granddaughter, Latasha White; and two great-grandsons, Seth Gallian and Nathan Andrews.
