Wayne McMurry age 73 of North Platte, NE passed away July 12, 2023, at his daughter’s home near Brady.
Graveside Memorial Services will be Friday, July 21, 2023, at 10:30 am at the Arnold Cemetery in Arnold, NE with Pastor Frank Scott officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Family. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Words of encouragement can be left at govierbrothers.com A 11:00 am luncheon will be held at the American Legion Hall in Arnold.
Robert Wayne McMurry was born January 11, 1950, in Mobridge, South Dakota to Robert Lee and Ruby (Gage) McMurry. Wayne lived around the Isabelle, SD area and went to Dupree, SD grade school later moving to Arnold, NE. In 1968 Wayne was united in marriage to Anita Reinert in Timberlake, SD. Wayne was blessed with a stepson, Jerome. Then to this union daughters Diane and Donna were born. The couple made their home in Nebraska, moving back to South Dakota in 1970, then back to Nebraska in 1975. The couple later divorced. Wayne made his home in Arnold, NE.
Later, Wayne married Anita Kelly, the couple lived in various locations, later divorced. Wayne then moved to North Platte working for Craig and Diana Phelps of North Platte. Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee and Ruby, son Michael McMurry, daughter Diane Evans, and stepson Jerome Reinert.
Wayne is survived by daughter Donna Benell of Brady, a brother Lester McMurry of Arnold, three grandchildren Brett (Molly) Benell, Jesse Benell, and Lacie Benell, two great grandchildren Ashten and Willow, ex-wife Anita McMurry of Gothenburg, and many special friends.
