Susan Wood age 52 passed away October 12, 2023, at her home in Mason City, NE.
A Celebration of Life will be Friday, October 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Mason City, NE with Pastor Scott Harvey officiating for Susan Wood age 52 of Mason City.
Susan Rae Crowe Wood was born January 16, 1971, in San Angelo, Texas to Donald Ray and Mary Sue (Weathersby) Crowe. Susan grew up in Texas and Kentucky. Susan was united in marriage to Ervin E. Murphy in September of 1986, to this union two sons Micheal and Charles Murphy were born. The couple later divorced. Married Emmit “Butch” Steel in November of 1993. Later divorcing. In December 1998, Susan married Gene Wood. To this union a daughter Megan Wood was born. The couple later on divorced.
Susan was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for 16 ½ years working at numerous Nursing Homes until the end of 1998, when she became a full-time housewife and mother until 2000. Susan and husband Gene started Lashwood Heating and Air where she was the bookkeeper and secretary. She enjoyed her family and friends. Susan was baptized April 28, 2019. Susan later worked at the Prairie Pioneer Center, which she enjoyed until her illness. Susan’s grandchildren were her blessings.
Susan was preceded in death by grandparents Charlie & Rossie Crowe, Jimmie L. Hill and Charlie Weathersby, grandson Grayson Murphy, and brothers Christopher Donald Crowe and Sonny Dale Crowe.
Susan is survived by sons Micheal Murphy of Council Bluffs, IA, Charles (Brittany) Murphy of Mason City, daughter Megan Wood of Owensboro, KY, grandson Quintin Murphy of Mason City, step granddaughter Alianna Hartfield of Mason City, step grandson Christopher Zwerk of Mason City, father Donald (Martha) Crowe of Tompkinsville, KY, mother Mary (Larry) Gazda of Glasgow, KY, brother Jason ( Brandy) Crowe of Glasgow, KY and nephew and niece Dawson and Madison, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
