Sharon Kay Paxton age 80 of Thedford, NE passed away March 24, 2022, at her home in Thedford.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 28, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Thedford, NE. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. A visitation will take place on Monday, March 28th from 10:00 am to Noon at the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Thedford. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Sharon Kay (Ewoldt) Paxton was born, September 13th, 1941, in Mullen Nebraska to Hans & Vera (Lesher) Ewoldt. Sharon attended country grade school then high school in Thedford. After graduation she attended Grand Island School of Business from 1961-1962. She went to work in Valentine after graduation, working at Clement’s Furniture, Cherry County Hospital and Hayward Construction.
On December 11th, 1965, she married the love of her life, Leroy Paxton. After getting married they moved to Glen Elder, Kansas where Leroy was employed with Bushman Construction until
December 1967. They returned home to her family ranch south of Thedford where they would spend the rest of their years together.
In 1968 they welcomed their first son, Troy and a few years later in 1971 they welcomed their second son, Trenton.
Sharon was very active in her church, Thomas County Farm Bureau and as an Athletic Booster. She looked forward to opening the life center each week and helping out as much as she could.
Most mornings were spent chatting with her sister Betty on the phone and making a plan for her day. And catching up with the boys as often as she could. She was adored by her grandkids and enjoyed having them visit on the ranch.
Sharon will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her husband Leroy. Son Troy (Melissa) Paxton of Grand Island, NE. Son Trenton (Dawn) Paxton of Conifer, CO. Granddaughters Trissa Paxton, Miranda (Timothy) Murphy, Mackenzie Paxton, and Macie Paxton. Her sister Betty (Larry) Jameson. Two nieces Teresa Daily and Donna (Terry) Higgins. She is preceded in death by her parents Hans & Vera Ewoldt.
Following the burial there will be a gathering at the Bethal Assembly of God.
