Funeral Services for Dwayne Chapin, age 60
February 6, 1963 - July 28, 2023

A Memorial Mass for Dwayne D. Chapin age 60 of Port Orange, Florida formerly of Broken Bow, will be held Monday, August 7, 2023, at 10:30 am at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Broken Bow, NE with Father Jim Hunt celebrant. The service will be livestreamed at govierbrothers.com.  A Rosary will take place on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to the family. A visitation will take place on Sunday, August 6, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with family greeting at that time at Govier Brothers Mortuary.  Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangement. Dwayne D. Chapin son of Bonnie, born February 6, 1963, in Broken Bow Hospital. Was adopted by Bonnie and Gerald Chapin in 1968. He passed on July 28, 2023, at the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona, Florida at the age of 60 years.

He made his 1st Communion at St. Joseph’s in 1969, and his Confirmation at St. Joseph’s in 1981. He attended Broken Bow Schools and graduated in 1981. Then he attended Southeast Community College, there he received an associate degree in electrical technology in 1983.

Dwayne loved water sports, playing pool, driving fast, motorcycles, and spending time with friends and family.

He traveled to Hawaii, Arizonia, and Nebraska before he landed in Florida in the Daytona area, he met the love of his life Patricia Humphrey, they lived together for 16 years. They ended up in Port Orange, FL.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Uncle Garry, Uncle Dean, Aunt and Uncle Patti and Jerry Jacquot, and cousins Melissa Riehl, and Trevor Haller.

Dwayne is survived by mother Bonnie, sister Addy (Jeff) Catlett, niece Desarae, and nephew Joseph, aunt Gaylene Amm, cousins Brenda (Brent), Stacy (Stephanie), uncle Gene (Lola) Chapin, uncle Jim (Deb) Chapin, many cousins, and special friend Patricia Humphrey (love of his life).
