Brian Harrington, age 51
February 14, 1974 - October 25, 2025

Brian Harrington, 51, passed away Oct. 25, 2025, at home in Searcy, Ark., following an almost three-year battle with cancer.

Brian was born in Detroit, Mich., to Chuck and Hazel Harrington.

He lived in the Plymouth/Canton area for the first 14 years of his life until his family moved to Thousand Oaks, Calif., where he attended high school.

He attended Harding University in Searcy, where he and Ann (Bartak) Harrington met during the inaugural semester of the overseas program in Athens, Greece.

Brian and Ann married in 1996 and moved to San Diego, Calif., Lincoln, Neb.and Castle Rock, Colo. before landing in Searcy for the last 15 years.

Brian worked in the advancement office doing fundraising for Harding for five years.

For the last ten years, he worked in the Center for Professional Excellence, helping students prepare for interviews, develop their professional skills and secure employment after graduation from college.

He genuinely loved his job and always looked forward to the students returning to campus after they’d been away.

Brian enjoyed sports very much, and he was heavily involved in the AR hockey community.

He was also an avid golfer throughout his adult life and always enjoyed playing new courses.

He was baptized at a younger age, and was a member of the College Church of Christ in Searcy.

Brian and Ann have three children – Delaney, Kacey and Jack. He was so proud of them as he watched them grow up!

It is comforting to think that Brian will continue smiling down on his children, watching them develop as faithful Christians and successful adults.

Brian is also survived by Ann’s parents, Lynn and Linda Bartak; brother-in-law Scott (Jessica) Bartak and children Aaron and Megan Bartak.

He was loved and will be profoudly missed.

A memorial has been established to nebraskayouthcamp.com which holds a special place in their hearts because it is where all three of their kids were baptized as they dedicated their lives to Christ.
