Funeral Services for Clarence “CJ” Carr, age 99
March 25, 1925 - March 27, 2024

Clarence J. Carr, CJ, age 99 formerly of Eddyville, Sumner and Broken Bow died on , 2 days after many family and friends had celebrated his 99th birthday on March 25, 2024, as well as the 75th wedding anniversary with the love of his life, Mary Lou Weidner on January 8, 2024.

CJ was born to Clarence and Margarite Carr on March 25, 1925. He was raised near Eddyville, serving a short time in Army before returning home to help his dad on the farm, eventually marrying and taking up ranching on the Woods ranch near Sumner and the Jones Ranch near Broken Bow.

Surviving him is his wife Mary Lou, daughter Linda (Bill) Bryant, Panama, Nebraska, son Randy Carr, Lincoln. As well as Cheryl (Rick) Kensell, Broken Bow, the granddaughter they raised. Grandsons Asa Bryant and Michael Jacquot; 3 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren. Sister Lila Beenblossom,  many neices, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
CJ is proceeded in death by his daughter, Charlene, parents, and siblings Bob, Claire, Veva and Sue. His wife’s siblings Orville, Merlon and Cyril Weidner.
A memorial was held on April 3 at Gold Crest in Adams, Nebraska, where the couple has made their home since 2021.
On Monday, April 8, 2024 a rosary will be held at 10:30 am, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Fr. Jim Hunt officiating.  Fellowship will follow in the Parish Center. Burial will be at a later date.
