Mullen hosted Anselmo-Merna and South Loup for a volleyball triangular Tuesday evening. In the opening match of night, Mullen held off South Loup in straight sets 25-18, 25-17. Anselmo-Merna faced South Loup in match #2 with the Lady Coyotes winning 2-0 (25-11, 25-12). The final match of the night between Anselmo-Merna and Mullen went the distance. AM won the opening set 25-21 but Mullen came back to win set #2 25-23 to force a third set. In the third, Anselmo-Merna would prevail 25-19 to pick up the win to improve to 3-3 on the season.
Broken Bow faced North Platte High Tuesday evening for their home opener at the Indian gym. Bow won in a three set sweep 25-23, 25-16, 25-12. Klarissa Dowdy led the offensive attack with a team high 12 kills. Maren Chapin finished with 21 assists and Broken Bow had 12 ace serves as a team to improve to 2-0 on the season.
