The softball and baseball fields in Broken Bow will be full this weekend. The “Spirit of the Sandhills” youth softball tournament takes place this weekend in Broken Bow. Over 30 teams are scheduled to compete in three different age divisions. The Broken Bow Spirit softball program will compete in all three divisions. The Bow Spirit 12U team is scheduled to begin play on Saturday morning when they face the McCook Mayhem. The game is scheduled for 9:10 a.m. at Tyke Arnold Field at Tomahawk Field. The Bow Spirit 14U team begins play Saturday morning at 8 a.m. against the PC Bombers at the Melham Ball Field Complex on Field #1. The Bow Spirit 16/18U team will begin play Saturday morning at 9:10 against the Chadron Slammers at Melham Park on Field #1.

The Broken Bow American Legion baseball teams are scheduled to play back to back doubleheaders this weekend at Paul Brown Field. Both days feature matchups with fellow Mid Nebraska League West Division members. Broken Bow will host Imperial on Saturday for a juniors and seniors doubleheader with the juniors game scheduled for 2 p.m. followed by the seniors game at 4:30. On Sunday, Broken Bow will host McCook for a juniors only doubleheader with game one scheduled for 1 p.m. and game two to follow around 3:30.
