Broken Bow competed at the Southwest Conference Track and Field Championships in Ogallala on Saturday. Cozad won the boys team title and Minden won the girls team championship. Broken Bow tied with Holdrege for third in the girls team standings.
Among the Broken Bow highlights, Klarissa Dowdy claimed the conference title in the girls 300 meter hurdles with a winning time of 46.78 seconds and was runner up in the girls 100 meter hurdles. Drew Ellis was the conference champion in the boys shot put with a winning effort of 49′ 2.75″ and Keelyn Shea claimed the conference title in the girls discus with a winning effort of 125′ 11″. Charlee Myers was the runner up in the girls pole vault clearing 9′ 8″. Other highlights included Janae Marten placing third in the girls shot put. Maren Chapin placed third in the girls 200 and Halle Quinn was third in the girls 800. Broken Bow was second in the girls 4×800 meter relay (Maren Chapin, Addison Ellis, Ashlyn Schauda, Halle Quinn) and Broken Bow was third in the 4×400 meter relay (Aliya Myer, Klarissa Dowdy, Halle Quinn, Maren Chapin).
