The Broken Bow volleyball team fell to David City Monday night at C1-7 sub district volleyball tournament in Minden 3 sets to 1. It was a thrilling match that went back and forth all night and featured three deuce games. David City took the opening set 25-23 then Broken Bow returned the favor by taking set #2 25-23. In the third, David City hung on for a 25-22 win to take a 2-1 lead. David City jumped out in front early in set #4 but Broken Bow fought back to tie things up coming to the final points before David City was able to close out the set 25-23 to win the match. It was a balanced offensive attack for Broken Bow led by Klarissa Dowdy who finished the match with a team high nine kills. Olivia Neely had 8 kills, Addison Ellis 7, and Izabelle Tibbs had 6. Janae Marten and Halle Quinn each had 17 digs and Maren Chapin had 26 assists for the 21-11 Broken Bow Lady Indians. David City will play top seed Minden in the C1-7 sub district final.
SEM advanced to the D2-7 sub district final with a straight set win over Anselmo-Merna 25-18, 25-18, 25-10. The Lady Mustangs will face top seed Central Valley for the sub district title Tuesday night in Greeley. Central Valley def. Elba in straight sets 25-16, 25-8, 25-12. The D2-7 final between SEM and Central Valley will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. A live video stream of the match will be available through sandhillsexpress.com. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Ansley/Litchfield and Burwell will meet for the D1-8 sub district championship. The top seed Ansley/Litchfield advanced with a straight set win over Twin Loup (25-13, 25-17, 25-22). Burwell advanced with a straight set win over Pleasanton (25-19, 25-21 25-20). The two will face off Tuesday in Ansley at 7 p.m.
